Edward earned his Bachelor of Arts from Miami University and Juris Doctor from The University of Akron School of Law. He is a member of the Columbus, Ohio State, and American Bar Associations and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Born in South Korea, Edward came to the United States when he was just four years old. Family is very important to him – He remains extremely close to his and his wife's family members. More importantly, he considers his clients to be "a member of the family".
PRACTICE AREAS
Labor and Employment Law
Representation of public and private employers in all areas of labor and employment relations, including all facets of contract negotiations, mediation, conflict resolution procedures, arbitration, and the daily administration of internal policies, state and federal laws, and collective bargaining agreements.
Representation of employers before administrative agencies pertaining to personnel matters, including the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, U.S. Department of Labor, State Employment Relations Board, and State Personnel Board of Review.
Drafting of municipal civil service rules and advisement on compliance with both municipal civil service rules and Ohio civil service laws.
Preparation of employee handbooks, manuals, and policies for private and public sector clients. Edwarad advises clients on all issues relating to labor and employment relations and local government law, including FMLA, ADA and FLSA.
Civil Litigation
Representation of public and private sector clients in litigation in both Federal and State trial and appellate courts of Ohio.
Representation of clients in appeals of administrative agency determinations.
Workers' Compensation
Assists clients in the development of policies and practices to minimize workers' compensation liability. Representation of clients in Workers’ Compensation matters in administrative hearings and in Court.
Instruction
Instructor of numerous seminars and employee and supervisory training on the following topics: Employee Discrimination and Harassment, Labor Law, Collective Bargaining, Civil Service Law, Civil Rights, Employee Discipline, Policy and Procedure Manuals, and related employment law topics.
Immigration and Nationality Law
Representation of individuals and employers in obtaining green cards, visas and citizenship through employment based petitions, family based immigration, and naturalization.
